Tide of Becoming
Changed, never erased.
A continuous gold curve carries the design from a smile into a wave. Six distinct diamonds hold its changing rhythm.
01 / IDEA
The vision behind the piece
For Lucine Yang, Design Director, Tide of Becoming is a study of change without erasure. Its continuous curve carries the warmth of a smile into the motion of a wave. Different forms remain distinct yet connected, reflecting how memory and individuality can endure as a life takes new shape.

02 / DEVELOPMENT
From a line to a wave
The drawing sets out a continuous, rising line and the placement of six unlike stones. The design presentation develops that line into a three-dimensional shank: a small smile at one angle, a wave at another. Sketch and rendering show how the idea becomes a form that can be viewed from more than one direction.
03 / COMPOSITION
A rhythm of six stones
Three round lab-grown diamonds and two square lab-grown diamonds form an asymmetric rhythm around one yellow pear-shaped lab-grown diamond. Their contrasting outlines remain legible rather than blending into a uniform row. The pear shape sits like a drop above the continuous gold curve, a quiet point of movement within the composition.
04 / FORM
Movement, held in form
Viewed obliquely, the yellow-gold shank rises beneath the stones and opens around the finger. White-gold settings distinguish the diamonds from the curve below. This view makes the work's depth visible without losing the continuous line first explored in the sketch.
The CAD view from beneath reveals how the separate stone settings sit above the gold sweep. From this angle, the open space and changing height of the shank are easier to read. This is a design rendering, not a photograph of a finished piece.
